Dr. Sudip Chatterjee

Sudip Chatterjee came first in MBBS in Calcutta University and completed his MD in 1984 from the same University. After a short stint at the newly set up Department of Endocrinology in AIIMS, he did a 2 year endocrinology fellowship in Detroit, Michigan. He then worked in the Endocrinology Department of the Newcastle upon Tyne Medical School, obtaining the MRCP (UK) diploma in 1989. He was involved in work on octreotide, some of which was published in the Lancet.
Sudip started endocrinology practice in Kolkata and became a Life Member of the ESI in 1990, an honorary Professor at the Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences in 1993. He has guided MD and PhD students in their research and published 18 papers each in international and national journals. He is a founder of an active group of endocrinologists in the city which organises an annual conference, IDEACON. He has been its Scientific Chair on three occasions and once of a Kolkata ESICON.
